Sorta close.. Sorry I didn't explain. RvR is Realm vs. Realm pvp type combat that dates back to Dark Age of Camelot (at least that's when I first came across it :P).

It's pvp on a grand scale in a persistent zone with real meaningful strategic objectives that need to be taken, controlled, maintained and defended by players and npc assets in a living breathing battlefront.

Sounds awesome, I want in...
:ugeek:

Would be nice for something for us MACO guys to do here. Take a Planet and hold it from the Klingon

Yep! Way back in ancient DaOC times pvp'ers, non-pvp'ers and even crafters contributed in thier own ways towards the realm vs realm battle. The pvp centric were always out probing defenses or patrolling the borders. When something was found reasonably attainable the call to arms would go out and the pve'ers would amass for a zerg rush to reinforce our side. The crafters would be called on to help keep defenses repaired or construct siege engines.

It was really fun, extremely addicting (and I actully don't even really care for the whole medieval thing) and kept the endgame very engaging. Just the thought of something like that in STO with all the possiblities of space and ground warfare, crafting, diplomacy... makes me wish I were a dev sometimes.

SWG (before all the 'changes') was alot lke that as well. I remember taking over cities with my guild and holding it for sometimes days. We would set up camps for the crafters and entertainers so they could maintain supplies and recovery ops for everyone heading out in defense.

I miss those days
