Just as a little update I just hit Lt.Commander rank 2 , and I'm cruising around in my Cruiser.

Right now I'm using 3 phaser arrays mk3 and quantum torp mk2
most of my BO abilities are shield regen of some sorts
I usually use weapon power setting unless I need the extra sheild power.
